Morning Session – 8:00 am – 2:00 pm The Colorado Growth Model: Changing Conversations about Student Learning and School Improvement The Colorado Growth Model is changing conversations about school accountability and improvement both in the state and across the nation. Be among the first to see the latest innovations in the presentation of the data for schools and districts and the public. This workshop is presented by Colorado Department of Education and school practitioners. Includes an afternoon session as well. See your choices below. Afternoon Session I – 2:30 – 4:30 pm New Superintendent Orientation (for new superintendents only) Presented by Colorado Department of Education and John Hefty Topics discussed include: School Finance, Legislative Issues, Standards-Based Education, Colorado Achievement Plan for Kids (CAP4K), Leadership, Board-Superintendent Relations. Afternoon Session II – 2:30 – 4:30 pm Colorado's New Tracker Monitoring System Presented by Gary Verhoff, West Ed; Barbara Vassis, CDE This two hour session will provide districts with an overview of the new Colorado online monitoring system, C-FIRS Tracker, which will be used for NCLB monitoring in the 2009-2010 school year. Participants are encouraged to bring a laptop, so they can make use of this interactive system. The session will cover Use of the system Handbook for the entire Colorado Federal Integrated Review System (C-FIRS), which now includes the Tracker system Practice with the various functionalities of the system, including the ability to upload documents     Special Ticketed Events  Events are free but space is LIMITED.
